The one closest to my house was selling it for two thousand something, but the one 10 miles away was $1950. Cool, I didn't think Toyota was selling new OEM packs anymore. [deleted] I think people have said imports have to keep a part available for 20 years, so probably another 5 years of them being available. •.
Major issue was the hybrid battery gave up last year. Other things i changed were brakes 2yrs ago, and anything that wore out like tires and wipers. We used it lightly since nyc doesnt require cars for most things. So its at 85k miles and 12-13 year usage. The hybrid battery we changed costed about $2000 from green bean with unlimited warranty.
Even if you did keep the car 13+ years, Toyota hybrids are so common that it isn't hard to get the battery repaired, or replaced by an aftermarket company, and the fuel you'll have saved over those 10+ years (especially if you do a lot of city driving or a lot of miles) will more than cover the cost of a battery replacement.
in a year it went from 45 mpg to 41 mpg then in the last month it was 39 mpg. of replacing a battery to match gas saved. As long as you keep the car 3 more years
Charge to 12.5v. Car worked like new. Few days later after not driving for 36 hours, checked battery, it’s down to 11.5v. Spoke with Toyota to query it and was told- Hybrid batteries are smaller than non hybrid, they run flat quicker, I need to take car for a “decent” drive every few days (30mins doing 80km or above) to keep charge.
The Toyota Avalon Hybrid has the benefits of using both gasoline and a battery for power. If You begin to experience symptoms of a bad battery, including engine stalling, cranking without start, or no response when attempting to turn on the ignition, You may need to replace it. If You want to buy a new one, You can expect to pay between $41 and $313 for the part alone. If You want to have it
Only get a Toyota Hybrid. Hybrids in general are great. They have their pros and cons. With the Toyota, I have heard many stories were the batteries lasted way beyond 250k. Even if the batteries last to 100k-150k. That only a 1500 dollar job over a ten year span. I would get one if I commuted or planned to do alot of ridesharing.
Toyota estimated 10 years for the battery when we bought it, but we expect it will end up lasting longer than that. The car has a little over 160K miles on it. BEV batteries(*) generally last longer than many PHEV batteries because they have much better liquid cooling systems for keeping the packs cool during charging and use.
